Are you ready for the World Flowboarding Championships? Here we tell you everything about this exciting event where the best exponents of the sport will compete from sunrise to sunset to take home the title of World Champion.

What is the World Flowboarding Championships?

It is an event of international stature where participants compete in the FlowRider on elongated boards called Flowboard. Or they are kneeling on a wider board called a Bodyboard. In either of the two modalities they perform all kinds of extreme tricks to demonstrate their ability.

Previous Editions of the Championship

The first edition of this competition was held in 2009 in Singapore. Since then it has had impressive venues around the world. Like Durban in South Africa, Mallorca in Spain, Sentosa in Singapore and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, this year the chosen venue for the World Flowboarding Championships was Cancun. More specificallyAquaworld whose Wave House is about to celebrate its first anniversary and has an ideal location right in front of the beautiful Nichupté lagoon.

Get ready for the 2017 Edition

The event starts on Friday, November 3 with the qualifying events of each division: Pro Men’s and Pro Women’s Flowboard and Pro Men’s and Pro Women’s Bodyboard. We will be able to see talented athletes from all over the world. Including our talented regional team who have had plenty of time to practice and will delight us with their daring moves, then on Saturday the 4th, we will have the main event competition and the preliminaries where the competitors will give their all, giving us an extreme show. From Flowboarders new to the scene, to stars like Sean Silveira and Siva Stone, the semifinals, finals and awards will finally take place on November 5. There will also be a party at the Hard Rock Café for all participants. In the three days of the championship there will be Food Trucks, bands, DJs’ s and a great atmosphere. In addition, admission is free, so there are no excuses not to attend this fantastic event.
