FlowRider in Cancun

Have you always wanted to learn how to surf? Cancun isn’t the best place to surf… in the ocean,
but if you still want to hang ten, Aquaworld can help with our FlowRider surf simulator. The
FlowRider is the next best thing to surfing in the ocean.

What is a FlowRider?

A FlowRider is a surf machine or simulator. This wave-forming generator is on an inclined surface
where thousands of gallons of water are pumped over the surface, which allows users to lie down,
kneel or stand up on a board and “surf”. The surface under the water is soft. Aquaworld’s
FlowRider was the first open to the public in Cancun and the fifth in all of Mexico. The 2017
Flowboarding championships were held at Aquaworld and competitors came from all over the
world to participate.

Can anyone use the FlowRider?

The FlowRider is for all ages. The whole family can enjoy it no matter their age, ability or size. The
activity begins with a few rounds on the bodyboard lying down. Once the participant is able to
kneel on the board, it’s time to try flowboarding. One of our world-class instructors will help you
keep your balance with a rope at first and before you know it, you’ll be surfing on your own. Don’t
be discouraged when you see advanced riders doing incredible tricks and maneuvers, it’s an easy
activity for beginners and if you keep practicing, you’ll get better and better.

Flyboard in Cancun

Do you like a challenge? The Flyboard is basically a pair of jet boots that propel you into the air up
to 30 feet above the surface of the water. This is a thrilling activity where balance and
determination are key. Aquaworld is one of the few operators in Cancun that offer the flyboard.

What is a Flyboard?

The Flyboard is a pair of boots attached to a board fitted with jet nozzles and hoses that are
connected to a waverunner. It takes the water output from the waverunner and it is forced out of
the jet nozzles. The thrust of water propels the user up off the surface of the water. The flyboard
was invented by Frankie Zapata and the correct term for flyboarding is hydro flying.

receive the equipment, including a life jacket, helmet and the flyboard. You will also receive
instruction from one of our professional staff members, and then it will be time to jump into the
water and fly! Your instructor will always be there to keep an eye on you and after you practice a
bit, will turn up the pressure of the water so you can fly higher. You can also try diving straight into

skateboarding in the sky!
