Fall in love with Holbox and its beautiful nature

Do you believe in love at first sight? Fall in love with Holbox and its beautiful nature! Discover some magical places of this island!

Do not forget to try snorkeling in Holbox Island when visiting Cancun on your vacations. It will be a memorable experience that you can preserve with your camera and enjoy for years.

Surrounded by the currents of Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean sea, Holbox Island is located off the northern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula. The main activity of the island is fishing.

A golf cart or moped will be the ideal transportation during your stay in Holbox Island. The use of larger sized vehicles is not allowed because they pollute the atmosphere and contaminate the streets.
While you are here, you will tour the island on foot. Holbox attracts most tourists during the period from June to September as they come to see whale sharks. This period is especially favorable to the (plankton feeding) whale sharks, because the ocean becomes particularly rich in plankton.

Is it usual to see whale sharks in Holbox?

Snorkeling in Holbox will safely bring you close to some of the whale sharks swimming in the wonderful waters of the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea.

If you visit the island in the appropriate season (late May to mid September), our guides will take you to the right place so you can experience an amazing snorkeling tour with them.

Trips are scheduled according to these details. While in the water, do not use camera flashes or anything else that might draw attention or scare these gentle giants of the ocean.

We have tours that allow you to enjoy an unforgettable experience with the whale sharks departing from Cancun. These fish migrate to the Holbox island to feed on phytoplankton during the summer. They also attract other marine animals such as dolphins and stingrays.

Holbox Is A Paradise For Pelicans And Flamingos

When you come to dive in Holbox, be sure to visit the Bird Island. It is a paradise for birds and is about 30 minutes from Isla Holbox. You can enjoy the company of birds and get to see more than 155 different species including pelicans and flamingos.

The months of April to October are the best time to see flamingos on the island, including all kinds of white and gray pelicans. Birds have complete freedom here. It is interesting to see how and where birds find space to build their nests and lay their eggs.

Bring Mosquito Reppellent And Sunscreen

Anyone visiting Holbox should bring mosquito repellent. Remember that you are in a 100% natural paradise and you are surrounded by the jungle.

During the summer it can get very hot, so it is essential to stay well hydrated and use sunscreen throughout the day.  Apply sunscreen at least 10 minutes before swimming, so you can avoid sunburns and enjoy this incredible adventure to the fullest!
