The fourth edition of this impressive festival has arrived. The festival announcement was unveiled at the Long Beach Dive Show in California by Festival Director Gilda Sigie.
This edition will take place from December 8 to 13 in Cozumel, with an incredible diversity of marine fauna and new products from advanced diving. Thousands of divers of all categories of the world are expected to visit, as in previous years.
Under the “Jean Michael Cousteau” Scuba Fest route that was inaugurated by Cousteau in 2013 when he unveiled a sculpture made in honor of his father.
The Cozumel Scuba Fest is more than a festival, since it is not only a couple of days a year, this festival opens new routes for diving throughout the year that can be done by amateur divers or advanced divers.
The reefs of Cozumel
Jean Michel Cousteau’s Scuba Fest route is responsible for touring the most beautiful reefs from Cozumel, this route was previously visited by Cousteau during his visit to the island, falling in love with the marine diversity that characterizes Cozumel.
For Advanced Divers
The route that opens this year, is aimed at Advanced Divers, in this nine dives are carried out, having the experience is essential in addition to being quite intrepid.
Some of the requirements to do this route are: have experience, have the AOWD certification and love the underwater adventure.
The surprises you will find on the route
The route has a fairly complete itinerary, the trip begins in the reefs of the northern part of the island, followed by a visit to the sunken ship Xicotencatl and the cenotes of Cozumel.
This intrepid route challenges advanced divers to enjoy this wonderful experience full of adventure. If you are one of them, do not hesitate to pack your suitcase and go to Cozumel to enjoy the Festival and the dives full of surprises that there will be.
Diving Circuit in the Yucatan Peninsula
In addition to all of the above the Cozumel Scuba Fest Festival offers an interesting product for those advanced divers who travel for more than two weeks to the island, since visits are made to the cenotes of Yucatan and the Riviera Maya knowing in their entirety the reefs of the Mexican Caribbean.
This circuit is the first to include advanced divers, with the main objective of diving in caves, cenotes and reefs for the exploration, adventure and protection of the cultural heritage submerged in this circuit, which has beautiful underwater landscapes.
