Reef Diving in Cancun offers a great variety of dive locations and profiles
Whether you’re a beginner or advanced diver, visiting the Underwater Museum must be included in your Cancun dive package.
This dive is available daily because of the sheer demand and number of divers in Cancun who would like to see this amazing project. Back in 2009 the Cancun Underwater museum consisted of only 3 statues – now there are over 470 life sized sculptures.
Artist Jason DeCaires Taylor is responsible for the creation of this artificial reef along with Roberto Diaz Abraham and Jaime Gonzalez who assisted in organization, fund raising and permits.
This 2 tank 30 ft dive will take you to the Silent Evolution (450 statues) as well as Anthropocene (a life sized VW Beetle car), The Bankers, Urban Reef, Bio Map, Bacab and Timebomb.
On the second dive you will visit Manchones reef area which also is home to two of the original Cancun museum statues, the Dream Collector and Man on Fire. Manchones reef is breathtaking, aside from the various coral reef formations it is very common to swim with turtles in this area and to see hundreds of fish that populate the site.
You won’t want this amazing Cancun dive experience to end!
