Description

Product Description

Aquaworld offers the following dive specialties which can be taken from Open Water certification onwards.

Whether you would like to learn more about a certain branch of diving or further your career in the world of scuba, it’s a great idea to combine a dive package in Cancun with a specialty certification.

These courses can be taken in Cancun or in Cozumel – complete four SDI specialties and register as an Advanced Diver. Some certs are also available in our dive center in Cozumel.

Deep Diver Specialty

Learn the techniques necessary for deep diving, dive organization, procedures, techniques and hazards. Put this knowledge to the test on a wreck dive in Cancun or a wall dive from Cozumel as you complete four immersions ranging from 60 – 80 feet.

Drift Diver Specialty

During your Drift Diver certification course, you will learn about drift dive planning, organization, techniques and potential hazards, as well as special equipment and procedures such as buoyancy. Put your new knowledge into action as you enjoy a 2 tank dive in Cancun; the Cozumel area is also great for drift diving.

Boat Diver Specialty

Learn ways to dive on different types of boats, how they differ from place to place and gain experience and training from diving on boats in the local area. Learn how to safely enter and exit the water, stow your gear in the appropriate areas of the boat and use surface lines to initiate or conclude your dives. Any of our Cozumel and Cancun dives will provide the practice needed to complete this course.

Search and Recovery Specialty

In this course, you will find out how to do search and recovery dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and how to deal with potential problems. You will also learn how to locate large and small objects using search. This is a fascinating course available in Cancun and Cozumel.

Underwater Navigation Specialty

During your Underwater Navigation Specialty course, you’ll learn underwater navigation dive procedures, techniques, dive planning, organization and potential problems. You will also be introduced to natural navigation, underwater patterns (using coral, sand and current patterns as navigation), distance estimation and learn compass navigation skills. The Cancun Underwater Museum dive is perfect for this specialty cert.

Enriched Air (Nitrox) Specialty

The Nitrox course teaches techniques to achieve extended bottom time using enriched air nitrox. You will learn enriched air scuba diving equipment considerations and how to manage oxygen exposure; how to tell what is in your scuba tank and how to set your dive computer. Learn to dive with nitrox in Cancun with Aquaworld.

Peak performance Buoyancy Specialty

During your Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty course, you will use basic weighting guidelines to determine the correct amount of weight needed. Then you will practice the fundamentals of peak performance buoyancy during two open water Cancun dives, including the buoyancy check, fine-tuning buoyancy underwater, weight positioning for trim, streamlining and visualization.

Cavern Specialty

This course is designed to be an introduction to cavern diving and to help develop the skills, knowledge and techniques necessary. Three days are required to take this course: one for theory (approx. 5 hours) and two days of Cavern diving in the Riviera Maya.
