This truly amazing activity in Cancun is not to be missed if you are visiting the area from the beginning of June until mid-September. Picture the size of a bus; that’s about the length of a whaleshark!
Our whale shark excursion offers departures from your hotel in Cancun and the Riviera Maya. Transportation is included, just specify your hotel and we’ll confirm your pick up time upon booking.
Whale sharks are commonly located off the coast of Isla Holbox and Isla Contoy.
During peak season it’s usual to see 30-40 whale sharks at a time and as they float to the surface to feed on the plankton, you jump to the water and swim alongside them.
These formidable creatures are filter feeders so they swim against the current, put your snorkel skills to the test to keep up with a fish that is twice or three times your size.
You will also come across giant Manta Rays as they swim in groups and surround you with curiosity ensuring this incredible whale shark Cancun experience is a dream come true
The tour begins at 08:00 a.m. at Aquaworld, a van will pick you up before the tour begins
After about 1 1/4 hours after departure, we’ll get to the sight area.
Once near the whale sharks, the group will be divided in pairs – each pair will swim 2 or 3 times during the 2 hours the boat stays in the area.
At 12:00 a.m. we’ll head to Isla Mujeres where the boat will dock at the beautiful Playa Norte. Enjoy a light snack some time to relax at the beach
You’ll be back to the mainland around 3.00pm

Sighting guarantee:
Between June and 31st August – If you do not see a whale shark you can reschedule and repeat the tour on another day, or we offer a credit for 50% of the tour value in order to take another activity
